reaching 2,000 households in seven villages with the gospel
Minjila, located in the Tana River basin in Kenya, is home to global partner Shadrach*, who has helped launch 6 churches in the past 10 years forming Ibsa Abdia. These 6 churches are comprised of 58 believers from among the approximately 75,000 people living in this predominantly Muslim area. The need to advance the gospel is astounding.

In dreaming about how to reach their area with the gospel,
Shadrach and his team discovered a way to combine
a community need with gospel opportunity.
Beginning as early as age two, children walk over 2 km to the town center to attend Islamic school, often dodging cars when crossing busy roads. Ibsa Abdia decided to start a Christian preschool/elementary school in their village. This addresses the problem of young children traveling a great distance to school and exposes students and their parents to the gospel.
Shadrach learned about Jesus from his primary school teachers, so he is a testimony to a project like this, which lies close to his heart.
You can read his story here.
The community gave the church 6 acres of land. Adjacent to the land was the perfect 4-room building they could lease for the school. They opened with two preschool classes and grades 1-3 in January.
The reception was overwhelming.

Shadrach
“Reconciliation and brotherly love are important in our community. Elders gather under a special tree referred to as the Koreçça (Kor-A-cha) Tree and hold peace and reconciliation meetings. We named the school after this meeting place.
It points as a reminder of the reconciled relationship we have with God through Christ.”
Partnering with Sdarach and Koreçça Academy,
we can help them impact over 2,000 households with the gospel.
The building and land Koreçça Academy is leasing are up for sale. The owner is ready to sell to
them at an under-market price. The structure has a strong foundation to support a second story for
additional classrooms and a church gathering room for future expansion.
