Sharing Hope
Offering hope to young women.
With over two decades of civil war and two million people displaced, South Sudanese families often find themselves feeling trapped in a cycle of trauma, poverty, and despair.
Our partners, Milton and Scovia, seek to offer the hope found in Jesus to the women and youth shouldering the daily stress of displacement and an uncertain future.
This past month, Yenet hosted two events for women and young girls. At one of these events held in Kajo Keji, 173 young girls attended. They came as far as Adjumani and Palorinya refugee settlements. The purpose of this event was to address some of the issues many youth face.
Some of the topics covered include:
Following God
Peer influence
Purity and modesty
HIV / AIDS prevention and management
Women’s health and hygiene and
Career guidance
Ongoing follow-up will continue with the attendees.
Yenet is passionate about creating practical pathways out of poverty. At every conference, along with presenting the gospel women are trained on how to make liquid and bar soap. Below are a few photos from one of their conferences.
