Raising a Generation of Church Leaders

CNM seeks to identify and develop potential leaders through its network of churches.

David Lual with Community Network Ministries (CNM) shares a little about the process of how they identify and develop potential leaders.

“Raising a generation of church leaders presents a significant challenge. It requires considerable effort to identify those who are gifted and called among the congregation. Our Lord serves as the ultimate example in this regard. He dedicated three years to intentional discipleship with a generation of leaders who would eventually transform the world.

Community Network South Sudan aspires to emulate this model of cultivating a generation of leaders. Our primary focus is always on discovering talented and gifted individuals within the churches. We then encourage them to enhance their areas of gifting.

We also prioritize understanding their relationship with the Lord to ascertain their calling. This aspect is crucial in our region, where church leaders often lack financial support. It aids in overcoming ministry setbacks and burnout, while also ensuring we engage with the right individuals.

The third focus is, of course, on intentional discipleship, developing their leadership abilities, and fostering a mentoring culture. We achieve this through annual leadership summits, quarterly monitoring meetings, church strengthening initiatives, and daily interactions with potential leaders.

We possess the capability to reach more souls and plant additional churches; however, we still face challenges such as the lack of theological training, an organized center for our daily activities, and the empowerment of outreach efforts. Currently, every church in our network encourages its members to reach out to their neighborhoods, share the gospel, and multiply their disciples. Each church has also introduced home-cell groups in nearby villages. These home-cell groups aim to engage communities, share the gospel, and potentially establish new church plants. Please pray with us that our gracious Lord will grant us the strength to accomplish this.”
