Light in the Darkness

The gospel shines forth in the darkness.

Paul* of Ecclesia Ministries shares about his recent trip to share the gospel and encourage leaders:

“The Christian community and church leaders appreciate your continued support. We are deeply humbled and grateful to God for all he is doing and how he uses his people as candles to shine in the darkness.

JM* is a centralized and strategic center. Though there is strong resistance from Muslim leadership, there is also an increasing movement of the gospel. Here we are distributing Bibles, audio players, SD cards, story cloths, and Jesus Film projectors as several ways to get the gospel to the community.

In response, Islamic leaders intensify their efforts to keep people from hearing the truth by offering aid to women and older men. But the door for the gospel has become too wide for them to close. I thank God for the great work that he is doing in the darkness.

On my recent visit to JM I saw how God is moving to advance his kingdom.

The purpose of this trip was to carry and distribute 3,000 Bibles, 600 audio players, 12 projectors, three light streams, 400 SD cards, and 15 solar batteries. We also had 100 solar radios to share. I also met with leaders to reinforce the vision and mission of establishing new church groups with Ecclesia Ministries.

I left on a Wednesday and crossed the border. As soon as I crossed, the situation completely changed. Insecurity and a sense of danger were high. Guns were seen in almost everyone’s hands. Life was not normal at all.

It was terrifying, not only to me but to everyone there. Trusting God, I jumped into the land cruiser. Only 3 out of the 15 passengers were not holding a gun. We traveled for 17 hours. No one spoke to each other.

When we stopped for the evening, the driver told us it was unsafe to go into the city but to rest where we were. He said another vehicle would come early in the morning to take us the rest of the way.”

Stay tuned for the rest of Paul’s story.
