Full Freedom
We desire to have full freedom in our communities.
In a region where being a follower of Jesus is difficult, global partner Shadrach*shares a little about the ongoing dialogue with other religious leaders in his community.
“Recently, we had a meeting with a group of Muslim religious leaders. The topic of our meeting was the freedom of worship.
In my area, Muslim followers are not favorable to allowing Christians to fellowship in their villages, especially for those who are Muslim background believers. During our meeting, we discussed allowances for freedom to worship based on the Kenyan Constitution, saying everybody has freedom of worship. These leaders shared that they can allow Christians to gather, but their god will be angry with them, sharing that they were to stay apart from people who rejected their god. After our discussion, some agreed that religious freedom is the right way as we move forward.
As Christians, we desire to have full freedom in our communities. We are praying and trusting God for this in the near future.”
