Amelia
The freedom Christ has brought to my life today is that I can just forgive people freely, and I enjoy the love of Christ in my life wherever I go.
Anthony, with Ever on Mission, sits down with Amelia, a member of one of their churches, and asks her to share a little of her story and the freedom she has found in a relationship with Jesus.
She shares:
“I'm Amelia. I fellowship now at a Baptist church. At first, our family fellowshipped at a Catholic church. In our family, the elderly are Catholic. My mother is a leader in the Catholic church. She carried us to church and introduced us to Christianity.
My mom tried to teach us how to behave as a Christian family. We were happy in those days, but life was difficult because we had no father at home. Even at school, we also attended the Scripture Union with other students.
I remember the gospel being preached by some evangelists. They shared about the love of Christ. It was at this time (hearing their message) that I decided to truly follow Jesus and become a born-again Christian.
If I compare my life from the time we were fellowshipping in the Catholic Church to the time I truly decided to follow him, I experienced joy in my heart and my life. There were some things in my life, like anger, that I struggled with. If someone came and disturbed me, I would just fight with them. I had no fear of others; I would just fight. It was not good for me.
But now I forgive. That time of anger has disappeared from my life. If any person receives Christ, they too can enjoy the love and goodness of Christ as I have enjoyed. And the best thing is, wherever I go, I experience the love of Christ.
The freedom Christ has brought to my life today is that I can just forgive people freely, and I enjoy the love of Christ in my life wherever I go. So I can serve Christ with my family members, even in the community, even in the market.”
