These women welcomed us to their village.
“We never thought we would have an opportunity to preach the gospel there.”
In addition to actively sharing the gospel and making disciples in his home community, global partner, Shadrach*, travels to a nearby region closed to the gospel and shares with a growing number of disciples there. Shadrach believes God placed a burden for this region on his heart and he is doing all he can to share the truth of the gospel with those open to listen.
To help build relationships and trust in the region, Shadrach has used Table Banking as a platform to speak to people. Table Banking is a group-based micro-finance program. Members collectively save money and lend to other group members from those funds under mutual accountability. These groups have primarily been composed of women in this community.
Shadrach shares, “These women (pictured) welcomed us to their village. We never thought we would have an opportunity to preach the gospel there. Through Table Banking, we are also able to teach them about the Word of God. They have been very open. Five women have trusted in Jesus and attend an ongoing Discovery Bible Study. Even though men in the area are harsh towards the gospel, these women keep welcoming us back. They have played a big role in the sharing of Jesus in an area we never imagined we would be able to go to.”
