Rooted in Christ

Two-day conference encourages and strengthens women.

Yenet Ministries hosted a two-day women’s prayer conference aimed at encouraging and strengthening attendees. Below are some highlights from the event:

We were blessed to host a special two-day women’s conference that brought together 150 women from nine different denominations and local churches across Pagirinya Refugee Settlement. These women have been meeting with us for over a year in ten small Bible study groups where they grow in God’s Word and encourage each other. They also take part in monthly prayer meetings that have strengthened their faith and built a strong community of support.

This conference is part of our plan to gather these women every three months for worship, teaching, and fellowship. These quarterly events are important because they allow the women to come together for prayer, deeper learning, encouragement, and help them stay rooted in Christ and ready to impact their families, churches, and communities.

Day One: Prayer and Fasting

The first day was set aside for prayer and fasting. The women came early with open hearts, eager to meet with God. The day was full of worship and powerful times of prayer as they lifted up their families, churches, communities, and nation. Bible verses like 2 Chronicles 7:14 reminded them to humble themselves and pray, and Philippians 4:6 encouraged them to give all their worries to God. Many women shared how God renewed their faith, brought healing, and gave them fresh direction for their lives.

Day Two: Rooted in Christ and the Great Commission

The second day focused on helping the women stay “rooted in Christ.” Through teaching and group discussions, they learned more about their identity in Christ and the importance of staying connected to Him, the true vine (John 15:5). They were also reminded of their part in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19–20), and were challenged to live as disciples who make other disciples. Speakers encouraged them to use their faith not only to build strong families but also to bring positive change to their churches, communities, and even the nation.

Impact and Moving Forward

During the conference, the women shared testimonies, prayed for each other, and committed to living out what they had learned. Our quarterly conferences will continue to build on their weekly Bible studies and monthly prayer meetings, creating a steady rhythm of growth and encouragement.

By the end of the event, the women left with stronger faith, a clearer mission, and a desire to make a difference for God’s Kingdom. This gathering was more than a meeting—it was a powerful picture of unity, discipleship, and the amazing influence women can have when they follow Christ.

We are thankful to our donors and partners for making this possible. Because of your support, these women are being equipped to grow in faith and bring hope and change to their communities.
