“I had the privilege of spending an hour with over 800 students at Gulu Central High School. I shared my story and reminded them that they hold the responsibility for shaping their country’s future, which starts now. I referenced Proverbs 1:7: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." This verse serves as the foundation and starting point for all we do. When we fear the Lord, we place Him at the center of our decision-making, values, and actions. Our better days lie ahead when we, as a nation, honor God, when our leaders do the same, and when you, as future leaders, choose to fear God starting today.
I challenged the students to remember that the fear of the Lord is not just a starting point; it’s a lifelong journey. Allow Him to guide you in your studies, relationships, and future endeavors. You have the potential to shape the future of your country, but it begins with wisdom grounded in the fear of God. Always keep your hearts open to His guidance, direction, and plans for your life.
Finally, I encouraged the students to seize every opportunity to learn, grow, and be empowered to create change. I urged them to love God, love people, and love their country.”
