BLESS Prompts

Here are some examples to help as you BLESS your neighbors, friends, and co-workers.

    • Pray that God would open their eyes and soften their hearts to the truth of the gospel.

"And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules." –Ezekiel 36:26–27

    • That they would seek to know God.

"that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us," –Acts 17:27

    • That they would believe the Scriptures.

"For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." –1 Corinthians 1:18

    • That God would draw them to Himself.

"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day." –John 6:44

    • That the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts.

"And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment…" –John 16:8

    • For the words and opportunity to share the Gospel with them.

"Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person." –Colossians 4:6

    • Pray that God would bless their marriage, their family, their work, their health, etc.

    • Pray for anything specific that you know is going on in their life.

  • Asking questions is the best way to build a relationship with someone. Here are 10 great questions to get you started…

  • This could be any situation where you’ve intentionally reached out to build a connection with someone.

    For example:

    • Grabbing coffee or a meal together.

    • A playdate with the kids.

    • Intentional conversation in the stands at a game or at the after party.

    • A round of golf.

    • Talking to neighbors in the front yard.

Often, people need to hear the Gospel multiple times before they place their trust in Jesus, and they also need to experience His love through you. This process may take weeks or even years—there’s no deadline. Simply focus on being a loving and faithful friend as God has called you to.

If you make “going” a way of life, then you’ll be blessed by seeing those you love come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
