The Harvest Is Plentiful

Planting Seeds of the Gospel.

We are in the process of evaluating a potential new global partner, who is located in a rural area of Kenya. He is actively sharing the gospel in his predominantly Muslim community and traveling to a nearby region that is closed to the gospel.

We recently received the following prayer request from him:

“Good evening from Kenya. A group of about 30 believers was meeting today for our regular monthly gathering. This morning as we gathered in one of the centres, up until 11 am morning hours, the Al-Shabaab attacked one of the police stations just a few kilometers from where we were. They vandalized communication towers and we were advised by the police to stop the meeting and quickly leave the premises. One of the leaders told me we will be targeted because of our faith. Kindly pray for us.”

Everyone was okay. They decided to end their meeting a little early.

He also shared that in their rural community, food shortage is a legitimate issue. A large percentage of people in this region are livestock keepers. A few years back their church ventured into agriculture projects to help provide families with food. The community has embraced the project. He said,

It is a great tool for evangelism and sharing Christ through farming! A while back, we were working in the fields and as we worked I was able to share the gospel and two people gave their lives to Jesus. Please join us in praying for these projects. The Ag projects have many challenges, but so many people are able to get food.”
