Leading Well

Milton continues leadership training with students from the secondary school.

Milton shares:

“What a wonderful evening with 30+ student leaders from Pagirinya Secondary School! Our ongoing series on Leading Well centered on the importance of serving others first. Through reflective discussions, the students opened up about their experiences and recognized areas for growth.

By reinforcing the value of selflessness, we’re laying the groundwork for transformative leadership that prioritizes the needs of those we lead. We’re excited to see these emerging leaders make a powerful impact in their spheres of influence!”

From the student leaders:

Lead by Example

“I am 18 years old and currently in Senior 3. Recently, I have been elected as a student leader at our school.

I’m thankful for the leadership training we’ve received. It came at the right time. One important lesson I learned is to put others before ourselves. I’m excited to put this into practice and lead by example.”

Born Leaders

“I want to know if leaders are born or can they be developed.”

Overpromising

“I am a 22-year-old, in Senior 2, and the Assistant Headboy. The recent session on keeping promises really challenged me. It reminded me of the promises I made during our campaign at school. I learned that overpromising can lead to disappointment and damage trust. It’s important to be honest with yourself about what you can realistically do, rather than just trying to please people.

My favorite quote was, "A promise made is a debt unpaid." — Robert W. Service

Thank you for the opportunity to grow as a leader.”
