I am not ashamed of the gospel.
We can point them to Jesus, who is our hope.
There is an urgency to share the gospel and offer hope to those displaced by unrest and living in refugee settlements. Lotigo, a leader with Ever On Mission, shares a few thoughts on why he is compelled to share the Gospel of Jesus.
My name is Lotigo. I stay in Omugo Refugee Settlement. I am a born-again Christian.
There are so many biblical texts that have inspired me to share the gospel.
In the Great Commission of Jesus Christ found in Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations. We also read in Romans 1:16 about the power of the gospel to save, to transform lives, and to bring hope to those who are lost. These passages inspire me. There are so many. Also, when you look at Luke 24:47, we see repentance for the forgiveness of sins proclaimed in his name to all nations beginning in Jerusalem. And we are sent to share this good news - Romans 10:14-15.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:16
There are so many reasons why there is an urgency to share the gospel in my area.
People are spiritually lost. They are lost because of sin. And they are without hope. They are heading towards eternal separation from God.
Sin has also led to social and economic challenges that are destroying lives and families.
People are also facing social injustices, leading to hopelessness. We can point them to Jesus, who is our hope.
Spiritual awakening is needed. It is urgent. Jesus is the answer.
